Sharjah Oasis for Technology and Innovation (SOTI)

Sharjah Oasis for Technology and Innovation (SOTI) aims to create a prosperous business and research community, located on the outskirts of Sharjah and Khorfakkan, spanning 96.3 hectares of land within the Al Manazel area. SOTI will employ world-renowned researchers and scientists, supported by inspirational leaders and talented people from universities, businesses and industries, who will assist organizations throughout the region with pioneering research and innovation.

 

SOTI will be the nexus of wealth in pioneering research, employing world-renowned talented individuals, who have the passion and ambition to sustain a culture of creativity and innovation. Their researchers will operate within each sector to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all individuals at all ages in the UAE (Sustainability Development Goal or SDG 3). This will include areas of significant importance to the society and community, and we will seek answers to the aspects of research that impact the wellbeing and sustainability of our life and our planet's health, including:

 

MedHealth - Aligned to a central ambition of the UN 2030 Agenda; SDG 3, SOTI aspires to achieve medical advances in devices, drugs, vaccines, procedures and systems, ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all individuals at all ages.

 

Biotechnology - Advances related to biological systems and living organisms. These sought after advances will directly contribute to remarkable improvements, contributing to various SDG areas such

as SDG 3, SDG 7 and SDG 12.

 

Sustainable Technologies - Driven by the hallmarks of SDG 11 advocating for investing in disrupting innovative technologies, SOTI aims to promote Technologies related to advances in sustainability.

 

Renewable Energies - Advances related to renewable energy generation, storage and distribution, ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. Aligned to SDG 7 on Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 9 on Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13 calling for Climate Action.

 

ICT, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics - Advances related to next-generation technologies that can also be used to support research in the life and sustainability sectors. Promoting such technologies will serve as a key driver to SDG 9.

 

Space Sciences & Technology - Advances covering remote sensing, space bioscience and other areas of the life and sustainability sectors. Promoting pioneering innovation and sustainable industrialization as strategic boosters of sustainable economic growth and development, aligned to SDG 9 and SDG 11.

 

Research, innovation, creativity, enterprising entrepreneurship and commercialization will be the focus of the Sharjah Oasis for Technology and Innovation. The focus will be their community and its schools, industries, businesses and people, creating not only solutions, answers, knowledge and research but also employment opportunities, education and growth for the economy. Various sectors in the region will harness SOTI for solutions to life and sustainability challenges as they witness their success in developing a creative and innovative ecosystem in which businesses, industries, society and the community participate and collaborate in an environment filled with inspiration.
