Kalba University was established in 2023 by Emiri Decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University. It is a non-profit educational institution with the latest education, research, and community service methods. The University is an autonomous, academic corporate body enjoying financial and administrative autonomy owned by the government of Sharjah.

Based on the directives of His Highness to transform the branch of the University of Sharjah Kalba city into an independent university under the name of the University of Kalba. It is a turning point in the education process in the city of Kalba, where the university will contribute to achieving the hopes and aspirations of the ambitious sons and daughters of this dear country. Since its inception, the University has received the supportive and generous patronage of His Highness – which will provide opportunities for growth and development.​
